Games are evolving ever slightly after a recent deluge of straight hidden object games. What resulted was, in fact, more hidden object games that mixed a variety of game genres and more depth of play in one place. Enter the gates of Good and Evil, with a famous adventurer, Laura Jones. Overall, it is indeed a hidden object game but with very light point-and-click adventure game tasks, much like the game play in Dream Chronicles and Azada. The game involves Laura Jones on a secret project with her professor. She discovers a mysterious ancient talisman that happens to be part of a key that can open a mystical gate, which she must protect from evil. In order for her to offer this protection, each time Laura finds an artifact, a guardian angel or spirit puts her through a test to prove that she is worthy of having it. These tests are where the mini-games come into play. There are different kinds games to prove her worthiness thereby keeping good in and evil out, which include a pipe puzzle, a word game, a jigsaw puzzle, a gravity game, and brain teasers. These break up the seek and find games and will take you to the various boisterous character interactions woven into the story.
