This retro Japanese brain teaser will be appreciated by those whose love tiny and cute mind puzzles, so reminiscent of Japanese games from long ago. In Bunny Bunny, an adorable bunny needs to push a block of ice onto brown tiles which releases the monkey. In turn, the monkey then pushes the ice block to a pink tile. You will need to change the tiles to blue to finish the level. This adorable game starts out innocently easy but then later gets really grittingly challenging, perfect for working out that gray muscle matter.

This unique platformer is for little kids looking for an adventure to save the lovely princess in Notebook City from the evil Scribble King. His terrible writing resembling chicken scratch, and his malicious princess napping is inexcusable! Your mission is to collect all of the golden coins, which will then open the magical door leading you closer to saving the princess. A magical elf will talk to your child, giving him/her helpful hints all along the way so your little one will succeed on his mission, and save the day. *NOTE: The download is a “.sit” file for older Macs only!!

Made for the very young kid gamers out there, the adorably cute Ignazio The Frog is just waiting to enchant each player coming for a visit. Ignazio is a curious little frog. In this froggy Pacman game, he strives and strives to discover 25 beautiful images of flowers and cute animals. On his adventure he determinedly trys to avoid the imminent dangers ahead like boulders and yellow stars. If he is successful, after he walks all over the map, he will happily reveal pieces of an image that will delight the players of the game once the image is completely uncovered. Gamers who seriously got into platformer games like Bud Redhead, Dark Castle, Prince of Persia and games like Mario, will absolutely jump for joy with Midnight Mansion. Run and jump around the mansion jam packed with puzzles, traps, creepy crawly creatures, secrets and gems. You’ll be searching for legendary treasures as you ride on conveyor belts, dodge monsters and avoid zapper beams, so you can collect the keys that will give you access to different and new areas of the mansion. Spend hours and hours wandering through a players’ favorite place to be lost, an addictive game.

Saddle up and ride through the saloon doors because solitaire just got plumb louder and as crazy as popcorn on a hot skillet! Remember to bring a deck of cards and your six shooter. Yipeeyahyay! Gunslinger Solitaire is a kick in the pants and features a variation on the game of solitaire mixed with wild cards that take you to a shooting gallery. These wild card bonus rounds gives you free reign to truly be trigger happy as you shoot as much money, wooden ducks or tin cans as you can. After a few rounds, visit the General Store to buy some bullet cards to ultimately help you find the gold mine at the end of the treasure map. This platformer has been around for quite a long time, and there’s a good reason why. It is undeniably fun! Taking the most entertaining games of Mario to heart, Bud Redhead focuses on one thing: game play. You might not think it’s possible but you will play this game for hours and hours and hours, continuing on your journey to find Bud’s girlfriend, who has been kidnapped by an evil alien. You will get into the game so much that at times you will probably forget that you have to save Rachel! Try it out and see if I’m telling the truth. After you’ve saved Rachel, here’s another jump and run platform game that will keep you busy having a blast: Midnight Mansion.

Developed a few years ago, Doulber Gold manages to never get old, and this arcade-like game will hit the soft spot in the very core of many gamers, young and young-at-heart. Play over 130 levels with Doulber, an adorable purple ant digging for diamonds in this puzzle game that will remind some gamers of the popular “Boulder Dash” and “Dig Dug” from way back when. Collect a certain amount of diamonds on time to move on to the next level while managing to avoid enemies trying to stop you. Kickin’ Soccer is a fast-paced, top down perspective arcade style soccer game (football game for non-Americans) for Mac. This sports game will appeal to footie fans who are less inclined to play soccer management games and instead, prefer a more pro-active game of football. Dribble the opponent players, slide into their defenses with quick and accurate passing, score with shoots from a distance or use crosses and try to head the ball in the back of the net. Use six simple keyboard keys: the arrow keys, Z to shoot and X to pass. That’s it. The game will take care of the rest.

The tabletop arcade game, Pacman, remains to be an all-time favorite for many people who spent more quarters on this game than they’d like to think about. I remember seeing Pacman games in arcades and in the waiting areas of some restaurant chains. However, all reminiscing aside, times have changed and games have evolved. This is what happened with Deluxe Poc Mon. EMV Software, the same developers who made the addictive Pixie, became obsessed with Pacman, then recreated a version that takes cues from the 80s classic, but adds a boatload, or rather, an ark of extras, items he thought would make Pacman truly awesome. In Deluxe Pocmon for Mac, all kinds of goodies await you: ghosts, bombs, lasers, duels, guns and alll sorts of bonuses and options. If you never got to experience the greatness that was Pacman, don’t feel badly, you can grab a little blast of others’ nostalgic past and play the 100 levels of Deluxe Pocmon yourself. You will then understand what all the hooplah was about.

For much too long, genetically modified grown food, and pollution from the ocean and environment caused a harmful impact on the natural food chain of Planet Terria. Terrians understood that eating flesh was fatal, so most of them survived on food they grew themselves. The other survivors on Planet Terria were several particularly resistant species of insects as well as some resistant forms of ocean creatures. All life except the Terrians were considered…very, very bad and they mutated in unusual ways and became stronger and more intelligent. Whether you were a fan of the arcade game, Galaga, or not, I’d be really surprised if you didn’t like Warblade. Yes, even gamers who love to play puzzles will get into Warblade. I say this with confidence because I play puzzles and normally do not like shooters. It’s different with Warblade, though. Based on the old Amiga game Galaga Deluxe, it’s actually the Galaga that you always wanted and more. The plot: with your trusty CryTech Delta fighter, your mission is to eradicate all evil aliens. It’s 100 levels of adrenaline pumping, fast-paced arcade action with ship upgrades, power-ups,  and new weapons. Every fourth level takes you to a shop to buy yourself even more power to destroy all enemies. Warblade is one of my top 20 favorite mac games. Later on, try another must-play arcade inspired shoot em up:  Kaijin, which also brings Galaga roots into its game play.

Sprinkle your magic dust around and declare the official commencement of Abracadabra, an arcade/puzzle game where you make or break your destiny with the “Whack!” of your magic wand. Build or break walls, launch spells and powers to control the fire breathing dragons and diabolic monsters trying to steal your mojo. Use your supernatural powers to protect you from the icky monsters and on your adventures, discover mystical fairies who will take you shopping! Use your  gold and fill your cart with potions and more that will help you win over 115 levels.

GL Golf is a 3D Golf game for Mac OS X with a realistic physics system and all the features of a true golf game. This game is right on par with gamers who are into golf but don’t want to wear the silly outfit – or who can’t handle lugging around a heavy bag filled with iron clubs in the scorching heat of the day. Gamers will find themselves focused and engaged in 108 different holes, obstacles like sand traps, water, and trees. There’s also an online highscore list so you can see your name in lights if you can play like your favorite Phil Mickelson. Or are you more of an Anthony Kim fan? Perhaps you had another sports game in mind. How about trying out Kickin’ Soccer?

In a world overflowing with match three and hidden object games (not that there’s anything wrong with them!), it’s a welcome breath of fresh air when something completely different emerges. That’s exactly how we reacted when Smashing Tennis was released. A casual and bargain sports tennis game for Mac is extremely rare. How should gamers approach this uncommon situation? Go for it. Hiding behind a 2D environment with basic graphics, you will find an incredibly addictive arcade game with authentic sounds and realistic physics built into the game. With some practice in the training mode, you will be able to perfect your moves; lob, dink and of course, smash the tennis ball where ever you want it to go. You can even dive for shots. Three different court surfaces (grass, clay and synthetic decoturf) will respond differently to your shots just like in the real game of tennis, so climb up the circuit ladder defeating player after player, and ace your way to victory in the final tournament. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a secret agent? Always going on those top secret and ultra dangerous mission, protecting the World from all of the bad out there. Your journey as Dirk Dashing takes you to the Bavarian Alps in Germany. Your mission is to recover the seven largest diamonds in the World, which have been stolen by Pique Pockette, a World famous jewel thief. Once in Germany, pick up on Pockette’s trail and start your hunt. Collect money and health while searching for Pique, and get grenades for weapons. As you work your way through 30 action packed levels, collect stolen items, and take on other criminals in search of the diamonds. Enjoy this not so serious, but highly entertaining arcade style mac game, and please save the farm animals in Supercow.

The very popular t.v. show is now available in mac game form. First choose if you want to play alone or with friends, up to five people can play in party mode. Was it a science experiment that has gone terribly wrong, or right? The researchers at Nano Research Headquarters have developed a live prototype bathroom cleaner. To their amazement and shock this creature eats everything, and I mean everything. In the mac game Tasty Planet you will play as the hungry blob. First choose between Normal, Casual, or Endurance mode and then start your feast. As you move from the lab to the open streets, use the mouse or arrow keys to eat all you can. Start each level as a small bug eyed blob, and once you consume more and more, grow in size to eat the bigger prey. Watch the clock and keep on your toes because you must feast on a certain amount of edibles before your time runs out. Eat your way through 60 food-filled levels in nine different locations. When you’re done, savour some fresh sea food and dive into the open ocean in Feeding Frenzy.

Hopefully you are a fan of sushi, because this mac game set in the big blue is just like the title says, a Feeding Frenzy. As you explore the depths of the open ocean, eat your way to the top of the food chain. Start the game off as a smaller fish, and let the Feeding Frenzy begin. As you start to devour more and more fish, you will keep growing and will eventually become big enough to take on the king of the sea shark. As you pass levels, travel to different parts of the sea to hunt for other unique fish. Be fast about eating the fish and you will get mega bonus points, special levels, and mermaid power-ups. Dive into this fast paced underwater mac game, and check out Tasty Planet for another great arcade style game involving the survival of the hungriest.

It may be a little early for Christmas, but not for the hard working Santa. He spends the whole year in his workshop making fancy toys for all of the good little boys and girls. This year is a little different though, Mr. Stink from the North Pole, in a jealous rampage, has stolen all of the toys Santa and his crew have made. Now Santa needs the help of his Super Friends and you to get back on track with the toys. First choose between Quest or Survival mode. Then head straight to the toy factory. Work the assembly line in this fast paced mac game as you match the colored pieces of toys. Be fast and accurate because the anxious elves are waiting. Will you help Santa by making toys for all of the kids? In Christmasville, Santa is missing and needs your help.

The evil Professor Duriarti has escaped from jail, has taken over the farm, and is keeping the animals hostage. But have no fear, because Supercow is here. An unlikely of heros, but the only chance at saving the farm. As you travel the land in search of the Professor, collect coins, gems, and secrets. Watch out for the snails walking around, and if you get hurt try to find a heart life or some milk. As you pass levels, talk with other animals that have escaped or weren’t captured. They will help you in your search for Duriarti. As you get closer and closer to the Professor, try and find out what kind of horrible experiments he is trying to conduct on the animals. Be the one that helps Supercow capture the criminal. This arcade style mac platformer is great for the whole family, with exciting levels, and a cartoonish feel. For more family style fun, give Platypus a try, being on a aircraft has never been this exciting.

The great and nutty Professor is back. He has gone to Volcano Island on a long overdue vacation, and is curious about the live volcano. While journeying closer to the volcano, he encounters one of his former student, the cunning Penny. She was one of his brightest students and he always thought she was too smart for her own good. Apparently she has other plans for the Professor, having her bat-bots take him back to the beach and scattering his gadgets all over the island. Fizzwizzle has to venture back to Penny’s lair to see what she is up to, and must collect his gadgets on the way. Like in the original Fizzwizzle first choose between Regular, Advanced, or kids mode, then use your problem solving and strategy skills to pass these platform levels. Each level is unique and each require a different plan of attack! Help Professor Fizzwizzle fight off bat-bots and push crates to find out the Molten Mystery!

Journey to the future in Bejeweled 2! As you explore the unknown world in this match 3 skills game. In Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, there are four modes to first choose through. If you haven’t played Bejeweled before, start off with the Classic Mode to learn the basics of the game. Once you haves mastered the match 3 madness, try one of the other modes which include Action, Puzzle, and Endless. All have their own unique traits, but Puzzle Mode stood out for me. Play in classic swapping fashion, match 3 or more jewels, but once you match them, they are removed. Your moves have to be thought out and strategic to clear the board. The serene and tranquil land of Ouba is in trouble, and they need your help. The all powerful and all evil Garouba, a banished Ouba, has returned to his native land with the mad intent of capturing the peaceful Ouba and conquering their land. The Ouba’s land is very magical, and has the only remaining waterfall where the Ouba get their powers. Garouba knows this, and that is why he is trying to take over the land. Help the friendly Ouba by keeping them safe and away from Garouba, in this match 3 block game. First choose between Story or Survival mode, then slide colored boxes to match three or more in a row, this will knock the boxes off screen and bring the Oubas down safely. Not your ordinary bubble shooter, Luxor 2 adds a  surprising twist that makes it much more satisfying. During your travels to Egypt, choose between three modes, which include Adventure, Survival, and Practice. Adventure mode takes you to the streets of Egypt, where you’ll shoot colored balls to the row to match three or more. You will notice that the row of balls aren’t on a track like usual bubble shooters. The row of balls flows through the city streets in 3-d fashion. Survival mode is frantic and nonstop, for those who thrive on challenges. And Practice mode is a good way to get your feet wet. Here you’ll practice aiming and perfecting your game playing before embarking on the other game modes. Luxor 2, a mac game for players of all ages,  has 88  levels, bonus rounds and power-ups. Make sure to play the original Luxor, if you missed it the first time around, and also try Sparkle, another one of our favorite marble shooters.

Ricochet Lost Worlds is a like a fixed up version of that classic arcade game, Arkanoid. First pick your favorite looking bouncer and head to the game. As you bounce the ball back up towards the top, aim it towards the bricks. The way to beat the levels is to break all of the bricks on the screen. There are also power-ups in some of the bricks, so collect the good ones as they fall. These include slowing down the ball pace, or giving you a bumper at the bottom of the level. There are bad power-ups so be cautious, they speed up the ball. As you pass more and more levels, they become a little harder spacing out the bricks farther apart making you use your aiming skills. If you enjoy these fast-paced brick busting games, you’re sure to like Bricks of Atlantis, too.

R.I.P. is back with more shooter action full of bloodshed and mayhem! Strike Back brings our favorite Heros (or anti heros) Death, Rock N Roll Guy, and Mr. Halloween back for more mac game shooter action. Start this game by choosing one of them, they all have unique abilities, then pick your experience level, and jump in to this action packed game. There are two modes, the first one is story mode, this includes 60 blood thirsty levels. As you work your way through a melee of levels, different power ups and equipment become available. You can find better guns and bombs, and even tanks and helicopters that will help you in your ravenous rampage. The second is Rush Mode, how long can you last as wave after wave of enemies keep attacking you. This sequel to R.I.P. is sure to get your shooter action thirst quenched.

Bringing the classic kids toy back to life, Etch A Sketch is a creative activity for the little kiddie crowd. There are four modes of game play that will peak everyone’s interest. These include Quest, Bounce, Etch, and Color mode. In Quest mode, you are Knobby, a cute little etch a sketch knob rolling around trying to finish the levels. To help Knobby, draw etch a sketch lines that will help him climb obstacles and avoid enemies. Bounce mode is kind of like Pong, but you must draw lines to have Knobby bounce off of them to get jewels. In Etch mode, it is that classic Etch A Sketch. Use your arrow keys or the knobs to sketch out whatever you like. Color mode is just like Etch mode, but you can pick different colors to add some more life to your drawings. These two modes offer the convenient ability to email your sketches to your friends and family! So practice your sketching and send away! R.I.P. is an action packed mac game that isn’t too serious but still full of fun. Start off this arcade shooter game by selecting you character, choose between Rock N Roll guy, Death, or Mr. Halloween. Once you picked you guy, choose between story or rush mode. In story mode defeat all of your enemies to pass the levels. As you advance in stages, more enemies keep coming, and it gets extremely hectic. Big explosions and tons of fire power is needed to continue this game. In Rush mode, it is all out shooter action. Your enemies keep coming and coming. This mode is great for some quick shooter action if you don’t have too much time. There are fun options in this game and you can choose between blood or flowers, so when you shoot your enemies, instead of blood, you see flowers. Have an awesome time with this adrenaline rush, action packed shooter game. Please be sure to try Swarm Gold for another edge-of-your-seat playing shooter for mac.

Burger shop is a great mac game that takes flipping burgers to a whole new level. The game starts by you receiving a mysterious package with no return address. In it is a set of blueprints for an unknown machine. Finally the machine is built, and its the Burgertron 2000. This thing is wicked at slinging out burgers in seconds. Naturally this should go in a Burger Shop. And that is what this game is about. As customers enter, take their orders and feed them. Try to be as fast as you can or they might get grumpy and just leave. That would mean no money for you, and the object of this game is to make money. There are 4 types of game play in Burger Shop including Story mode, Challenge mode, Relax mode, and Expert mode. As you progress in the game, add new items to the menu like french fries, and sodas and upgrade your shop. Have tons of fun slinging burgers to your favorite customers and please be sure to hang out with the Diner Dash gang for more hours of entertaining game play. Zuma is here, and it is for all of the marble popping game enthusiasts. This is a high energy and fast paced ball shooting mac game. In Zuma you are a the shooter of the balls, to beat the levels you must shoot the colored balls to the snaking row on the track. Match the ball you shoot with like colors to get them off the track. There are great power-ups that can either make the row of balls slow down, or give you a light that you can aim with, and more. Start your journey of Zuma domination by choosing either Adventure or Gauntlet mode. In Adventure mode you beat the levels as fast and efficient as you can, earn points and continue on. You’ve mysteriously found yourself marooned on a set of islands shaped like a shark. Your arm is broken but other than that, you are able to explore and investigate. Mystery of Shark Island is a deep reaching hidden object mac game that exerts its own style. It isn’t just a room full of objects you must find, but it is rather, a sandy beach with objects washing to shore, and you’re required to find certain objects. There are two types of game play, story mode, or arcade mode. In story mode you must find certain objects in a timely manner to advance to the next level. Use your hints if you need to. In arcade mode, finding hidden objects is your one and only mission. You are timed so the faster you find them, the faster you move on. Bringing back one of my favorite old school games but with a twist, Deluxe Poc Mon is a step above the original Pac Man. Use your expertise to fence off enemies in this arcade-inspired game.

A surprising yet serendipitous partnership has taken place. Independent game developers, Phelios, Inc. and EMV Software have teamed up to release a new game called, Pixie, which was created with the PTK Game Engine. Phelios, makers of PC and mac games such as Doulber Gold, Kaijin and Abracadabra, to name a few, was happy to collaborate with EMV, whose popular games include Warblade and Deluxe PocMon. The end result of this joint effort is Pixie, a game that will remind some players of the arcade classic, Qix, with the exception of more varied game play and sophisticated graphics, animation (by Paul Conway), music and sound effects (composed by William Lamy at audiobank.fm).

The game’s main character is Pixie, a fairy who loses her way one day in a magical forest. You’re beckoned for guidance to help Pixie find her way out of this place filled with bugs and other fairy enemies. To succeed on your mission, you must play and advance in each game level, which will ultimately send little Pixie on her way home, safe and sound… and in one piece!

The object of the game, Pixie, is to fence off or claim a majority of the playing board. When you claim areas, what was once barren, scary territory, turns into flowers, butterflies, magical mushrooms, and other positive thoughts. In other words, with your help, you and Pixie change the world into a happier place. Now, if we could only just as easily do the same in real life, but I digress. Click on the playing board and send a magical vine to block off areas of the board. You must claim more than 84% of the board to send Pixie on to the next level. If you happen to block off exactly 50% of the entire board, you will claim 100% of the playing field…and that feels good.

It’s not as easy as it sounds, and as you play, you will realize that each level becomes progressively more difficult. That’s ok; don’t worry about it because it makes you more determined to get through it. You will need to use your expert gaming skills to time your vines exactly, make your move so none of your enemies will interfere and all the while anticipate any bonuses you can accrue that will work to your advantage. My favorites are the bombs because if you find those and use and place them strategically against the baddies, they will turn into gold coins. And you can’t pass up gold coins!

Once you get into the game, you will absolutely find yourself coveting those precious metals flying about because you will come to the realization that you can use them to go shopping in the Magical Shop. You’re not into shopping, you say? You will eat those words because you can buy things there you absolutely need. How ’bout bombs? Magical potions that will temporarily freeze your enemies? What about some extra lives??? Yup, you need those things and more when playing Pixie, believe me.

One important part of the game is to know your good bonuses from your malices (or are they simply called bad bonuses? Anyway.) You will often see them flying every which way and you will be tempted to try to catch them all. Beware. Some of those things are evil.

Speaking of evil, you eventually face four boss levels. What are you going to do??! I know! I know! You will have a blast, that’s what. They will catch you off guard but you will quickly get into the action and find ways to destroy your enemy. Another thing about the levels is that each level is very different, and you might, if you were paying attention, notice that there are many level designs with game references. Will you? In many, if not most games, you will find references to games the developers grew up playing like Pac Man or Asteroids, etc. I just thought I’d throw in that bit of trivia. By the way, if you see a level with a humungous S and Q, you can be sure that the level was designed by level designer, Simon Quincey.

Pixie will most definitely appeal to old school gamers because of the arcade element and game play, but I  believe that most casual gamers will really get into it as well. I mean, who doesn’t want to make the world into a happier place? Who doesn’t like flowers and butterflies and polka dotted mushrooms? Who wouldn’t want to help a cute, adorable fairy surrounded by magical pixie dust find her way back home, out of the sordid reaches of forest creepy crawlies?
